New York City FC announced the re-signing of veteran midfielder Maxi Moralez for the 2026 MLS season on Monday.
It will be the 10th season with NYCFC for the 38-year-old Argentina native, who has 29 goals and 85 assists in 217 regular-season appearances.
Moralez started all 34 games last season and produced two goals and 11 assists.
'Maxi produced a stellar season in 2025, demonstrating the consistency, creativity, and leadership that have defined his time with the club,' sporting director Todd Dunivant said.
'Maxi continues to impact games in meaningful ways, and beyond the on-field contributions, Maxi's experience, competitiveness, and approach around the locker room help reinforce the club's identity.'
An MLS All-Star and Best XI selection in 2019 when he led the league with 20 assists, Moralez helped NYCFC win the MLS Cup in 2021 and Campeones Cup in 2022.
'I'm very happy to be back with New York City FC for another season,' Moralez said. 'This club is home for me, and I'm motivated to keep helping the team and working toward our objectives.
'We know what we're capable of as a group, and my focus is on giving everything I have to help us compete and win trophies this season.'
New York City FC open the 2026 MLS season with a visit to the LA Galaxy on Feb. 22.
