Major League Soccer has announced that Saturday evening's contest between Austin FC and LAFC has been postponed due to 'severe weather impacting the safety of travel in central Texas,' according to a statement released by Austin FC.
As flooding continues to devastate central Texas, MLS made the decision to postpone the regular-season game, scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. CT start at Q2 Stadium, in consultation with local authorities.
Austin FC posted this note to the team's X account. 'Tonight's matchup with LAFC has been postponed due to the devastating weather impacting our friends, families and neighbors across Central Texas. Stay safe, everyone.'
The game is expected to be rescheduled, and tickets for the July 5 contest will be valid for the new date.
