The Orlando Pride scored on an own goal by Racing Louisville's Ary Borges in the third minute of second-half stoppage time to escape with a 1-1 home tie on Saturday night.
Louisville (6-6-3, 21 points) appeared to be in good shape thanks to Jordyn Bloomer's two penalty-kick saves and Marisa DiGrande's goal before the late misfortune. Orlando's Carson Pickett took a free kick and the ball went into heavy traffic in front of the net and teammate Simone Charley headed it before the ball caromed off Borges' head and into the net.
Bloomer's first penalty-kick stop came in the first minute of first-half stoppage time when she easily saved Julie Doyle's right-footed shot. Three minutes later, DiGrande sent a left-footed shot that hit off the foot of Orlando goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse en route to going into the net.
Bloomer protected the 1-0 lead in the 85th minute when Angelina stood at the spot and sent a right-footed shot to Bloomer's left. The goalie again easily made the save and finished with five stops.
Orlando (8-4-3, 27 points) had a late chance, but Barbra Banda's close-range, right-footed shot was high and off to the right. Moorhouse made three saves for the Pride.
Washington Spirit 0, Gotham FC 0
Aubrey Kingsbury made four saves for her fifth shutout of the season as Washington played to a scoreless draw against Gotham in Harrison, N.J.
Ann-Katrin Berger had three stops while also registering her fifth NWSL clean sheet of the season for Gotham FC (5-5-5, 20 points), who stretched their unbeaten streak to four matches (2-0-2).
Gotham played shorthanded for the final 60-plus minutes after Geyse was given a red card in the 30th minute for violent conduct. Geyse was carded for knocking Washington's Gabrielle Carle to the ground.
The Spirit (8-4-3, 27 points) had an opportunity in the 89th minute after Berger leaped high to catch a ball. She was undercut by teammate Lilly Reale and dropped the ball before she fell to the ground.
The ball caromed to Washington's Heather Stainbrook, who sent a soft, right-footed shot on net that Gotham midfielder Jaelin Howell cleared away.
In the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time, Gotham's Gabi Portilho made a long run and took a long, left-footed shot that was knocked away by Kingsbury.
