Atlanta United transferred defender Derrick Williams to English third-division club Reading FC on Friday.
Williams, 32, recorded one goal and two assists in 44 MLS matches (41 starts) with the Five Stripes from 2024-25.
'Derrick has been a great teammate and a true professional during his time with the club. This is a great opportunity for him to continue his career and is in the best interest of all parties involved,' Atlanta chief soccer officer and sporting director Chris Henderson said.
He played for D.C. United (2023) and the L.A. Galaxy (2021-22) before joining Atlanta in the 2023 re-entry draft.
